As a new functional carbon material, Expanded Graphite (EG) is a kind of loose porous wormlike substance obtained by natural Graphite scales through intercalation, water washing, drying and high temperature expansion. EG in addition to the natural graphite itself cold and heat resistance, corrosion resistance, self-lubrication and other excellent properties, but also has natural graphite without softness, compression resilience, adsorption, ecological environment coordination, biocompatibility, radiation resistance and other characteristics. [1] Brodie discovered expanded graphite in the early 1860s by heating natural graphite with chemical agents such as sulfuric and nitric acid, but its application did not begin until a hundred years later.
